The Appalachian Angels Tri-State Chapter of Women on Wheels and Chattahoochee Biker Gear are teaming up with Habersham County Health Department to help provide mammograms for uninsured women. On August 16, 2014, a poker-run motorcycle ride is being sponsored by the Appalachian Angels and Chattahoochee Biker Gear with all proceeds donated to Habersham County Health Department. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. and the first bike will depart from Chattahoochee Biker Gear at 10:...00 am with the last bike will departing at 11:00 a.m. Prizes will be given for the best and worst poker hand. Tickets for a 50/50 split pot will also be sold at the first and last stop. The cost is $20.00 per rider and $5.00 per extra hand. All bikes should return to the starting point by 1:30 pm. Mammograms are the best tool that doctors have for early detection of breast cancer. Programs that provide mammograms for uninsured women typically have limited funding, said Storie-Heath Allison, Breast and Cervical Cancer Program Coordinator for District 2 Public Health. When organizations and businesses sponsor events to raise awareness and additional funds for screenings, it helps us serve more residents in our area. We are very appreciative of the Appalachian Angels and Chattahoochee Biker Gear for sponsoring this event. Mammograms will not find all breast cancers, but they will find 80% of them. With 1 in 8 women being diagnosed with breast cancer, it is crucial that everyone receive the proper screening to catch breast cancer early so they have a greater chance of successfully kicking cancer. Our first long trip yesterday in the new van! Thank you everyone you have changed Denton's life, he was able to remain in his chair, I believe made for a more comfortable ride! After a trip to Warner Robins Little League for his ball game he slept till 11:00 this morning instead of hurting all night after a long trip! Thank you everyone for making Denton's life better! You are all the best! We love you all!

Finally A VAN for Denton, We want to Thank EACH and EVERYONE who helped Denton's Dream come true! We met this Awesome family who really hooked us up with this van... We had to beg Denton to get out of the Van today... He has been showing it off! We want to let everyone know without all of your hard work and support Denton's Dream would have not happened. Tears roll down as We are truly thankful for so many wonderful people out there. WE love and appreciate all of you!

The Appalachian Angels Tri-State Chapter is having a Memorial Ride & Blessing Of The Bikes for our Sister & Friend Mama Gail Ramey that was killed by a drunk driver. May 3, at Christ Fellowship in Toccoa @ 10 AM. Heaven's Saints NE Georgia MM, and Cross Bearers MM will be doing the bike blessing. We would love to have all of our biker family & friends join us to honor this precious fallen biker.
