Got them dry and in supersize bags. Off the tree, out of the field, in the warehouse, to the market soon.

Pecan season in full swing. Larry Tabor on 1980 Kilby shaker. Never know how good the crop is, until we hook ol yellow to the tree. Pretty good this year Thank you Lord!

CARL DIXON STORY - Chap. 74 Funny thing about getting older. Like when life changing events happen, we wish our mom or dad was around to talk to. It doesn’t matter if we are 8 or 80. I guess 2020 has been one of those years. Carl Dixon was not one to answer quickly. When he did answer you, he would not be changing his mind later. I guess all of our worlds have been turned upside down this year. When Carl and me were farming together, I asked him a lot of questions. Mo...Continue reading

CARL DIXON STORY- CHAP 73 It seems when I go thru knee surgery or sickness I start thinking about days gone by, and my daddy or mom and problems they had. Last Wednesday, my grandson, David dropped me off at Emory Hospital to replace an aortic valve. And I do mean dropped off. None of my family were allowed to come in or visit me. I had my phone, and did not realize how many friends cared about me. If you don’t believe prayer works, you might not want to have this type of...Continue reading

CARL DIXON STORY - Chap 72 ... Guess I started writing these stories in July, 2018. It is strange how the memory works- sometimes I have nothing to write about until I start writing. Kinda like my granddaughter Ali. ( named after my mother Aline). When she was young, her mother was holding up flash cards for Ali. Ali was doing pretty good until she got to the letter F . Ali just stared at the letter- held her hands out and said I’ve got nothing. That’s the way my ...Continue reading

A lot more Peanut acres being re-planted than normal this year. Just got off phone with Dr Kemerait. No need to re-apply insecticide/fungicide if your simply planting back in same drill. Peanuts that have survived are 2-3 weeks old and will need a shot of Priaxor when the re-plants are a couple weeks old. So we can add Acephate to our first fungicide trip if we are dealing with thrip pressure. Replanting is expensive enough w out re-applying I/F.

CARL DIXON STORY- Chap 71 It’s been almost 3 months since I wrote a chapter. As I told you then, I was having some physical problems. The blood patches for my headaches didn’t work. The doctor wanted me to go to Albany to see a different doctor. He said, he would probably give me another shot. After two epidurals and two blood patches I said I don’t think so right now. So, the headaches continued everyday, just not sure when they were going to attack wasn’t sure wh...Continue reading

Carl Dixon always said, you have to love the dirt to be a good farmer. Maybe one of these three may help feed the world one day...

Bloomberg had some comments about farmer’s. I can think of a few back to him, but Paul already took care of it. Thank you again Mr Harvey. A friend from Virginia Beach sent this to me. He does not farm but his business is farm related. https://youtu.be/dWjUT1RjNdQ
