First time back in Griffin since I got my teeth kicked in for a jury trial several weeks ago. Humble pie is always an awakening. Special thanks to Chad Nuce and his crew for letting us squat at his office for depositions!

Here for a deposition in a Uninsured Motorist (UM/UIM) case; the UIM Carrier just doesn’t seem to think my client has damages that warrant a minimum limits ($25k) policy- despite over $25k in actual damages. Be careful when you purchase insurance and make sure your UM/UIM coverage is 1) enough for a traumatic injury, and 2) from a reputable company that will help you achieve justice as opposed to looking out for their bottom line.

On this Monday morning, I come to Jonesboro for depositions. Of course, we do not have QT in Macon. So, imagine my excitement to find out there is one about half a mile from my deposition location. I walk in to the QT, just ready to drink a big fountain Coke. Bear in mind that I have not had hardly any Coke in about six weeks. Now, imagine my surprise when there is a big sticker over top of the Coke fountain that says we are out . I ask one of the workers about it, and she... tells me that happens all the time. Out of fountain Coke?!?!? Wow. Now the coffee that I got tastes burnt. I always thought the worst QT was just off of exit 216. I may have found its rival today in Jonesboro.

Here's some more wonderful news! Bibb County Schools' graduation rate keeps increasing. It jumped from 71.6% to 77.1% over the past year! That's an increase over 5.5%, which outpaces the state's overall increase of 1.35%! So, Bibb County's Graduation Rate is only 3.5 percentage points below the state's. But our schools here are horrible? I think not.... I remember in 2012 when the graduation rate was 52.3%. Since then, our school district's graduation rate has increased over 47%! Now you tell me how that's not #VictoryInProgress ! A big shout out to all of the teachers, support staff, administration, and Dr. Curtis Jones for all the hard work of the past few years. What a team effort!! Keep it up.

A few thoughts while lawyering in Atlanta: 1) I love ATL, but hate the traffic enough to not want to live here; 2) Powerball is $520 million;... 3) I bet with that money, one can buy property on an island far away from lawyering, the unfounded allegations of writing anonymous letters, crooked local political leaders, and tax increases. Just sayin.....

Taxes on the way toward big increase in Bibb County. County Commission just approved first of two votes on the millage rate increase. Schlesinger, Lucas, Shepherd, Watkins, and Bivins voted yea. Jones, Allen, Tillman voted nay.... Bechtel absent.

Please keep Senator McCain and his family in your prayers during this trying time for him.

The case that never ends....

ATTENTION! BOLO Two escapees from Putnam Co. hijacked a light green 2004 Honda Civic (GA tag RBJ6601). The subjects shot and killed two guards and are cur...rently armed with their weapons. One male is 5’10 with tattoos on his face. The other male is 6’0 with a brown beard. Possible last names at this time: Rowe and Dubose Putnam Co. Sheriff is advising that one of the subjects is from Athens and the other from Macon. Suspects are more than likely in another vehicle by now. The last known direction of travel was SR16 towards Eatonton, but could be in any direction around Eatonton. Contact local law enforcement or 911 if you have information about their whereabouts.

Just settled our two oldest cases, and had a productive trip to Albany for depositions. Hopefully, more justice to come for clients!
