Downtown Ministries

As we prepare to move into 2021, we reflect on God’s faithfulness and goodness in 2020. While 2020 had challenges, it also had triumphs. We were able to continually see our community show up in ways we never could have imagined! Downtown Academy was able to hold in person school, when so many others had to remain virtual. Our Daily Bread Community Kitchen was able to continue operations throughout the shutdown. Though our Falcons football team did not have a season, Coach Ben was able to maintain contact with players and still pour into them and their families. 2020 was tough but the fact remains that Jesus is King and God is still on the throne. May you begin this New Year with the Hope that Jesus provides.

Santa Claus came to town last week at Our Daily Bread! Thanks to our volunteers from Colbert United Methodist Church for bringing the holiday spirit to our guests!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

As believers we know there is hope, which is what we celebrate tomorrow. We know that God is with us and that someday he will return and there will be peace! This hope continually motivates our work, to pursue the youth and families of Athens faithfully with the love and hope of Jesus Christ. We are encouraged this Christmas, that God is with us today and always. Merry Christmas
