Dr. Aaron is, in my opinion, the best there is! He is extremely caring, professional and knowledgeable about his field. We have trusted him completely with our children and myself. He is also very personable... when you see him around town he takes the time to stop and speak, which is awesome because you don’t see that much these days. #OptimOrthopedics #OptimOrtho #SouthGeorgiaOrthopedics #HelpingYouMove

National Milk Day on January 11th commemorates the day many think the first milk deliveries in glass bottles began in the United States. Drinking milk has long been associated with healthy bones. This is due to its powerful combination of nutrients, including calcium, phosphorus, potassium, protein and (in grass-fed, full-fat dairy) vitamin K2. All of these nutrients are essential for maintaining strong, healthy bones. Approximately 99% of your body’s calcium is stored in you...r bones and teeth. Milk is an excellent source of the nutrients your body relies on to properly absorb calcium, including vitamin D, vitamin K, phosphorus and magnesium. Adding milk and dairy products to your diet may prevent bone diseases like osteoporosis. Studies have linked milk and dairy to a lower risk of osteoporosis and fractures, especially in older adults. What’s more, milk is a good source of protein, a key nutrient for bone health. In fact, protein makes up about 50% of bone volume and around one-third of bone mass. So, make sure you drink your milk! #OptimOrthopedics #OptimOrtho #SouthGeorgiaOrthopedics #HelpingYouMove

You may have been wondering: Why do my legs hurt when it is cold? At the end of the fall or during winter, complaints about joint pain are usually heard more than other seasons of the year. Unfortunately, there’s inadequate research to prove the cause of this condition. But during the cold months, the body tries to conserve more heat and it sends more blood to organs in the mid-section of the body, like your heart, lungs and digestive organs. Consequently, the legs, knees,... arms, shoulders and other joints have less blood. This, in turn, makes the blood vessels at the joints constrict. The reduced flow of blood makes those areas stiffer and colder, which can result in pain and discomfort. Keeping warm can help you reduce cold weather joint pain, however if your pain is persistent, contact us at Optim Ortho to see how we can help. #OptimOrthopedics #OptimOrtho #DrAaron #Optim #StatesboroOrthopedics #SmallTownOrtho #ColdWeatherAches
