Dunwoody Christian School

In Science, our 3rd and 4th grade students learned how gradual and sudden changes impact the earth’s surface. Each researched a specific change and created a model to demonstrate his or her understanding. The projects included landslides, tsunamis, and volcanoes. We also learned that no matter how much the earth changes, the Lord remains the same. "The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever." Isaiah 40:8

On Friday, our students started their day with a powerful message from guest speaker Chris Middleton for our Chapel service (When we were far, God pursued!). The rest of the day was filled with Valentine's Day activities, parties and gift exchanges!

Part 2: 100th day of school!

It’s our 100th day of school and our kindergarten students and teachers dressed up to celebrate!

We ended our last day before the Christmas break with a wonderful play by our 3rd and 4th graders of the Christmas Story.

Today was our first, third and fourth graders’ turn for gingerbread house decorating! Such fun!

We had the honor and privilege of baptizing two of our students, Jayden & Joshua today! Such a special day!

Our second graders each did a presentation today of "Christmas around the world", describing how different countries celebrate the holidays! Thank you to the parents who were able to come out and attend!

We love the smiley faces of sweaty kids! DCS now offers aftercare daily until 6pm. Lions Den is a time to get home work done, play wiffle ball, read books, race paper airplanes and more under the care of loving, caring, energetic teachers.

Last Thursday, our teachers shared a wonderful object lesson for the season of Halloween by using Liz Curtis Higgs' Pumpkin Patch Parable book. Mrs. Rodriguez read the delightful book while Mrs.Hedrick carved a pumpkin to illustrate the change Jesus brings into our life. They demonstrated how through Christ we can get a new face and allow His light to shine through us for all to see! Afterwards, the students each took home a booklet filled with scriptures that were illustrated throughout the story!

Our teachers took to the road to deliver goody bags to the homes of our students.

In October, our students visited Martin Luther King Jr's birth home and learned about his legacy. Today, we enjoyed a day off of school so we could be with our families, serve our community and honor the great Dr. King. "Darkness cannot drive out darkness, only light can do that.
