A pilot’s training never stop! Pilots learn to fly their aircraft in different emergency situations to include engine failures. Typically, the engine is never shutdown for safety reasons. But here you can see our Young Eagles Coordinator practice with the engine shutoff! You’ll see that he does perform this while already over the runway. The experience is definitely rewarding, when done safely.

West Georgia residents! Another great opportunity to watch the International Space Station fly overhead tonight. If you have not seen it, it’s certainly worth taking a look. Here are the details.... Time 9:12 pm... It will first Be visible in the SW sky at about 10 degrees above the horizon. It will travel from SW to NE reaching a high trajectory of 62 degrees. It will be visible for about 6 minutes before flying off to the NE at 17,500 miles per hour. If you have not seen it before, it is very easy to see as the Sun reflects on it throughout its 6 minute trip over our area. It will appear as a very bright light (much like an airplane landing light). Get the kids and family out to have a look

YOUNG EAGLES UPDATE: As mentioned in our previous post, we won't be holding any rallies for the rest of the year. We will try to do independent flights with precautions taken. Right now we're developing a method to take on requests and distribute to our pilots. Please reach out if you have any questions.
