The museum will be open for Peanut Proud this weekend! The EC Historical Society will have a special one day only sale of the Collections of the Early County Historical Society, all four volumes for $75.00. Must be purchased at their booth on the square or at the museum on Saturday, March 27, 2021. You can also complete your collection - Volume I will be $20.00, Volume II will be $30.00, Volume III will be $40.00, and Volume IV will be $40.00. Normally a full set is $135.00. They are also offering a special on the Oral History books, which are $20.00 each, but all four can be purchased for $75.00. The stories in these books remind me why Early County will always be home. Please come by and see us this Saturday on North Main Street and go by the booth on the square.

Early County is basically a farming community. We have a lot of farms and a lot of farmers. Corn, soybean, peanuts, cotton, cattle, sheep, goats; you name it it is probably grown in Early county. One farmer of interest is Jill Wilson, a 4th generation farmer in Early county. Listen to her story and enjoy the video.

People in Early County just reach out to their friends to bring us interesting people and informaton. Cliff Starr has brought to us Bruce Land. Bruce lived in the wiregrass area for years before moving to Virginia. Bruce plays the banjo and plays it very well. Listen to his story and his banjo accomanied by our own Cliff Starr on the acoustic guitar.

Early County is full of musical talent, some play instruments which are a little obscure. Mary Holloway collects Zithers and specifically the Mountain Dulcimer. Listen to her story and the music she plays...
