3 of your #eastpointffs have completed the 80 hour Structural Collapse Technician class given at the Fire Academy in Forsyth GA. Over the past 8 grueling days, they learned techniques that will allow them to operate with a GSAR team at the scene of major incidents that involve anything from major building collapse to damage caused by natural disasters. Over the last year they have completed over 400 hours of specialized training to reach this level, and it’s a pretty pres...tigious position to obtain a spot on one of the Task Force Teams. We are currently awaiting permission from our city leaders to complete / approve our applications to apply to become a part of the GSAR team, and look forward to proudly representing #eastpointga once that permission is granted from our city leaders. FF Andrew Dunlap has made the hard decision to leave the fire department. He takes with him several years of experience. FF Dunlap was a valuable member of our department, and he and his experience will be missed. Your #localeightsixeight brothers and sisters wish you nothing but success, and know that you will take the same dedication and passion you displayed here to your future endeavors.
