Yesterday morning, Pastor Tim’s preached a timely message on forgiveness and touched on working through conflict together as a community. As we enter this week with the news that brings many joy and hope, how can we begin to reconstruct and rebuild through our communities? You can watch yesterday’s sermon on our YouTube page or listen to it as a podcast on Spotify or Apple.

This morning our worship director, Troi shared some words in reflection of the news from the election. We hope these words sit with you and instill action in us all. The Kingdom is incredibly political. The Gospel is political. Jesus is political. -Troi

In the words of Howard Thurman, the Earth is automatic. The wind will still blow, the plants will still bloom and the sun will still shine. But we know the anxiety is still prevalent and tomorrow’s unknown awaits. We hope this prayer can be a source of comfort to you all as we enter into tomorrow.

During the month of November, our Racial Justice Fund will be going towards the work that is happening at Southern Center for Human Rights. We as a church believe that criminal justice IS racial justice. To give directly towards SCHR visit Eastsideatl.org/support and give under the Racial Justice tab. - On the face of it, the criminal law is color-blind and class-blind. But in a sense, this only makes the problem worse. The rhetoric of the criminal justice system sends the ...message that our society carefully protects everyone’s constitutional rights, but in practice the rules assure that law enforcement prerogatives will generally prevail over the rights of minorities and the poor. By affording criminal suspects substantial constitutional rights in theory, the Supreme Court validates the results of the criminal justice system as fair. That formal fairness obscures the systemic concerns that ought to be raised by the fact that the prison population is overwhelmingly poor and disproportionately black.- David Cole See more
