Have you been reading along with the NEW LIFE FROM ASHES daily devotion written by #elumc members? Has it been meaningful? Is there one that stands out as being particularly insightful or powerful? Share with us below how this devotion has been a meaningful addition to your Lenten spiritual disciplines!

This Sunday, we're beginning a brand new worship series called Beyond the Mask. No, we're not going to be talking about the physical masks we've been wearing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. We're going to be talking about the spiritual and emotional masks we all wear to cover up things like pain, shame, guilt, insecurities, and more and what Jesus says about how we can remove those masks and be the whole and healed people Jesus desires us to be. Join us at 8:30am or 11:00am in the Sanctuary for traditional worship or at 9:45am in The Well at the Lillian Ellis Center (next to Domino's) for modern worship. See you then!

Please join us in extending Christian love and sympathy to the family of W.C. Fine. In times like these, we remember Jesus' words: "I am the resurrection and the life." W.C. Fine passed away Tuesday afternoon. He was an active member of Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church for 28 years, until health issues kept him away in recent times. Visitation will be Sunday from 12-3 p.m. at Cove Methodist Church, with his memorial service at 3 p.m. His son, Lamar, will be doing his eulogy. His graveside service with military honors will take place this Friday at 3:00pm at the Chickamauga City Cemetery.

Many thanks to William Wallace and the Scouts from Troop 224 for their hard work behind the Fellowship Hall! William and the team installed a new cross, repaired the fence, and cleaned out the overgrowth. Congratulations on the completion of your Eagle project, William!

Our Chancel Choir is singing this Holy Week! The choir loft has been empty for an awfully long time, but as part of our Palm Sunday and Easter services, the Chancel Choir will be singing (some virtual via recorded video, some in-person socially distanced). If you have the gift of music or just like to make a joyful noise, consider joining our Chancel Choir this Holy Week. Contact Lorali Reyna, our Director of Traditional Worship at Elizabeth Lee, at [email protected] for more information and to get the music.
