Let's get to know some of our Emmanuel Online faculty in a campaign called, #FacultyFriday! First up, Assistant Professor of Business, Lesley Bowick! 1. What is your favorite book in the Bible? - Acts... 2. What is your favorite Bible verse?- I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Philippians 4:13 NKJV 3. What is your favorite dish to cook or eat? I don’t like to cook, but I love pretty much any kind of Mexican food. 4. What’s something no one would know about you? When I first started college, I wanted to be a math major because it was my favorite subject in high school. I had no idea of what career path to take with that degree, just that I did NOT want to be a teacher. Never say never! 5. What is unique to you about EC? I love the family atmosphere of EC, along with being able to share my faith with my students

Our next Emmanuel Online Student Spotlight is Thomas Carr! Thomas is a Business major and hopes he can use this degree to jumpstart his future to see what areas God wants him to pursue! 1. What ultimately made you decide to come back to school? I felt like I have arrived in a place where God has me planted to flourish in ministry and to learn at the same time. College has been something that I’ve been putting off and I replaced with pursuing my education for ministry and lice...nsing. Until recently, I was very conflicted and felt no direction to where God wanted me for school, or even what I was to go back to school for. I had visited Emmanuel in the past on multiple occasions, but never felt like I was needed on campus or that being on campus was somewhere that God was going to use me properly. I knew I couldn’t just walk away from my youth ministry, but going to school was critical for my future. 2. Why did you choose the Emmanuel Online program? What is unique about it? I was strongly encouraged by multiple friends and a few alumni to check out Emmanuel and to really consider it for my future. When I learned about the online program in its early development, it immediately peaked my interest. One thing that was very important for me transitioning into this new season was that I was going to be surrounded by people of faith and learning from a biblical perspective. I’m aware that without these principles in school, many others have fallen away or given themselves over to ideologies that are contrary to the truth of God’s word. 3. How did Emmanuel help you transition into/prepare for the program? I’ve had nothing but good experiences with counselors and professors helping me through every step of enrollment and my first semester, and I don’t expect to be slowed down by anything with the amazing group of people at Emmanuel that work like a team and encourage me whenever they can!

I previously attended EC through the Dual Enrollment program and after I graduated, I knew I wanted to finish my degree I was just waiting for the right time. ... 2. What are you studying? Business Administration 3. Why did you choose the Emmanuel Online program? What is unique about it? My time at EC on campus was amazing and when I heard about the Online program, I couldn't wait to come back. I love how personable Emmanuel is, it has made for a great experience. 4. How did Emmanuel help you transition into/prepare for the program? Transitioning into the online program has been so easy. Everyone has been super helpful and I'm thankful for that. Meet our next Emmanuel Online Student Spotlight...Stephen Wallace! 1. What ultimately made you decide to come back to school? I have been working with ASI Southeast for 7 years now and it is a great company. I have held several positions during my time with them but I have held my current position of Plant Manager for 4 years now. I have grown in this position and have been fortunate to work under some great people. I have built myself a solid resume but for my future growth... having a 4 year degree will help me to grown into the position of Director of Operations. In the MFG world a master's usually helps you grow more financially. I also think you should find ways to better yourself and make yourself more valuable and in my case this education is doing just that. 2. What are you studying? I am going for a degree in Business Management 3. Why did you choose the Emmanuel Online program? What is unique about it? I first went to EC back in 2004 straight out of high school and I chose to go to EC because of the religious affiliation, it is also close to my hometown. 4. How did Emmanuel help you transition into/prepare for the program? I have agreed a lot of support from the team at EC as I was looking at coming back and finishing my degree. Dr. Henzel Mrs. Grizzle and Mackenzie Dye have been available to answer questions and help make sure I was on the right track. EC has a great support staff to help make sure you are on track to get your degree. The new online degree program is a great opportunity for someone like myself who is wanting to finish their degree and continue to work a full time job.
