The tragic killings of unarmed Black men and women in the past few months have sparked a necessary conversation about racial injustice in our communities. First and foremost, we want to express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd, and to the countless individuals impacted by violence against the Black community throughout history. The Emory Indian Cultural Exchange stands in solidarity with the Black Lives Ma...tter movement. In doing so, we engage our mission to promote inclusivity, unity, and strength through diversity condemning any and all violations of human rights. The history of systemic oppression, stereotyping, and stigmatization of people of color can be improved by engaging in necessary conversations about how our actions contribute to injustice. Throughout the week we will be sharing a series of universally applicable resources that are tailored to the South Asian community. These will include articles, petitions, funds, letters, and ways to take government action that we hope will encourage the global Indian community to acknowledge our own biases and actively support the Black community. If you have any helpful resources that you would like to be featured, please share with us on instagram @emoryice or facebook at Emory Indian Cultural Exchange. Graphic by @aditimayer See more
