I’m so grateful to all those who came to the Emory University Performing Arts Studio this past weekend for the 116th Convention of the United Sacred Harp Musica...l Association. It was more affecting than I’d imagined to welcome so many singing friends to a place I care about. It was equally moving to sing just feet from so many rare songbooks connected to our history from our Pitts Theology Library and to realize that their owners and compilers held these books at singings in their times and places. Seeing so many facets of my life brought together made real to me just how connected my work is to the activities and people I love and care about. I’m proud of that and grateful to the Emory Center for Digital Scholarship for the opportunity to do what I do. See more
