Fantastic virtual orchestra performances coming next month from the EYSO, including Capriccio Espagnol (Rimsky-Korsakov), "The Last Spring" (Grieg), Pelleas et Melisande (Faure), Bach Brandenburg 3, and small ensemble works by Bach and Beethoven. Streaming from Emory University's Virtual Stage on Wednesday, 11/18, at 8pm! https://schwartz.emory.edu/events-/virtual-stage/index.html
We are excited to announce our 2020-2021 roster! We had a record-high number of applicants this year and the audition panel was exceedingly impressed with the musicianship of our auditionees. Despite high audition turnout, the EYSO roster is smaller this year by design. We are hopeful that we will return to the stage in 2021 and like most arts organizations, we must prepare to have fewer performers on stage in keeping with vital CDC and Emory health and safety distancing guidelines. Congratulations to our musicians, their families, and their wonderful school directors and private teachers! http://www.emoryyouthsymphony.org/2020-2021-roster/

An amazing project by Emory Piano faculty and students!
A quick sampling of our performance last evening, including the EYSO Percussion Ensemble, our "antiphonal" flute quartet (spaced throughout Emerson Hall), and both the Haydn Concerto (with Michael Tiscione of the ASO) and Shostakovich's brilliant 9th Symphony. More media to come!
