Because I am a counselor who also uses equine assisted therapy as part of my practice, I thought this article would be a good one to support equine assisted therapy. Instead, i found an eloquent description of what depression is, but what's more, in this powerful paragraph, what therapy is: "Treatment turned out to be nothing like I imagined. Just returned from an equine therapy session with first responder with PTSD. As of today, he's had 4 sessions. He tells me he's gone from 2-3 nightmares a night to 2 over the course of the past two weeks and that others are noticing the dramatic change in him. Horses are amazing healers. I know they heal me every day.

Just finished couples counseling with EAT. There were so many amazing moments that I can't go into for privacy purposes, but I can tell you this. The horse we chose was AMAZING. He knew exactly what to do, how to walk, how to act, and he TOOK CARE OF THEM. He humbled me.
