What if the recipient doesn’t have the time, e...nergy or money to care for the animal on a long-term basis? What if the animal you choose isn’t the right fit for the recipient? Furkids wants to help you give the gift of companionship - as well as a home for a homeless dog or cat - in a way that works for your recipient and the animal as well. We suggest that for an adult, you give a gift certificate letting the recipient know that you will pay the adoption fee for whatever cat or dog the adult applies for and is qualified to adopt. For your child, wrap up a dog or cat bed (or water dish, toy, harness and leash) to let your child know that you’ve agreed to add a pet to the family; and that, as a family, you will select the perfect pet together.
