Hopefully, we are slowly going down the road of finding an oral antiviral for SARS-COV2. Favipiravir is an antiviral medication that is used in other countries for treatment of the flu.

Similar results shown last year in Germany and Scotland. This study was done in North Carolina.

Pretty good explanation of different tests for SARS COV2. With the advent of rapid ANTIGEN testing, it is important to know why one is getting tested. If someone has symptoms for a few days, an antigen test would be appropriate to use, if desired. If someone has been exposed (directly), needing proof for travel, or proof to go back to work (not recommended by CDC), a molecular PCR is the best test. We are well versed in which test is best for which situation since performing over 6,000 molecular PCR tests and 500 rapid antigen tests since this mess began. We, like everyone, will be happy to return our normal clinic interactions and not having to run around the parking lot ;)
