A solemn reflection this morning. As small businesses, we’re all going to struggle to survive the sudden and unprecedented losses associated with Coronavirus. It’s heartbreaking, knowing that some of our best local business will no longer be here when this eventually passes. We know what small businesses mean for our community. We also know very well, though, that even in the best of times running a small business is absurdly challenging. Pickens has been the home of Fastest ...Dog since our family started it 20 years ago. Our fellow small business owners are not only our neighbors, but are our brothers and sisters-in-arms against the destruction of small-town America, the greatest place on Earth. Unfortunately, some owners will have to get other jobs to keep the lights on at home, some won’t be able to climb out of months of debt piled on without sales, they might have crushing inventory losses, maybe have had to let their critical employees go, or perhaps their customers are now just out of business or hurting themselves. The obstacles go on and on, and will get harder to overcome each day. To help keep our Pickens community strong, the Fastest Dog family is making this offer and challenging other businesses and organizations to do the same. Comment below, or message us, to suggest a local Jasper business you love. We’ll select 5 local businesses and buy a $200 gift certificate from each. Then we’ll donate that gift certificate to a local Pickens county charity. Let’s help some local charities, and also help some small businesses fight on for another day, at the same time.
