Just discovered a cool FREE resource: Gottman card decks app! I've used the physical card decks with clients to help them increase their intimacy and connection, and now you can access them through the app for free! https://www.gottman.com/couples/apps/

The vision board workshop this past Saturday was a wonderful time of creating and sharing vision and intentions for this coming year! Grateful for the people who attended and supported each other while we were crafting our boards. Plus, we got to eat chocolate! So win-win

Just picked up my updated business cards. I’ve got 2 big changes to my counseling practice for 2018: 1. I’m letting go of my Marietta location and will be working solely in Buckhead. This means less time marketing and doing administrative work to keep up with 2 locations, and more time for seeing clients - which is still my favorite part of my job! 2. I’m focusing in on what I’m most passionate about: Relationships and Couples Counseli...ng. I’ll be starting some groups and workshops throughout the year focused on relationships, boundaries, premarital counseling, and couples counseling. This is already a big part of my practice, but something I want to continue to hone in on. What we don’t do is just as important as what we do, so I’m saying some intentional no’s to sharpen my arrow and increase my focus for 2018. Excited for the changes and to see this work I love continue to grow and change!

It's officially the holiday season! If you are looking for some great books to throw on your Christmas wishlist, my 3 most often recommended books to clients are: 1. Boundaries by Cloud and Townsend 2. 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work by John and Julie Gottman 3. Gifts of Imperfection by Brene Brown... What about you? What's your favorite self-help or personal growth book?

There is something about the beach that is healing for me. Last week I got to get away and put my feet in the water for a few days, and I felt like my soul got to take a deep breath. It may feel like a sacrifice to take time out for yourself this time of year, but remember: self-care isn’t selfish! It’s often what enables us to better love and care for the people we are in relationship with. I challenge you to make some space for your own self-care this week, and reap the benefit of going into the holiday season a little more refreshed and less frazzled. Your family and friends will thank you!

Heard this recently, which cracked me up and it is also so true! "Emotions are like children. You aren't going to give them the keys to drive your car, but you aren't going to throw them in the trunk either."

Just recently finished reading "The Art of Work" by Jeff Goins and loved it! I'd highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to find greater fulfillment from their work. Have you read it? What did you think? http://artofworkbook.com

Ditch the comparison. It's a constant struggle when media and images constantly pressure us to fit in. But there is no one else quite like you in this world, and when you're busy being like someone else, there's a hole left where your beautiful image would have been.
