Romaine lettuce seed germinated on the coldest day of the year and my Birthday! This tunnel is called a caterpillar tunnel. It is 100 ft long. The plants to the sides are Green and red cabbage on the right and more broccoli and collards on the left. This... Platform allows us to grow vegetables and greens all winter even though it is much colder outside. I am hoping to have more support from Our CSA that will help me to build 2 more of these in the next few months. My Intention is to commit to utilize 2 more Tunnels dedicated to large red tomatoes for the Barrow County Farmers Market...I heard many folks asking for big red tomatoes and it just didn't happen.
