Finish the Task

Just because someone does not believe the gospel does not mean they are unreached. "Unreached peoples" are actually those who have no opportunity to hear the gospel at all. They don't have a chance because they don't have a Jesus follower nearby to explain the good news of Christ to them. In most instances there is no church, no Bible, and no way of hearing about the love of God and His redeeming work through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Faisal showed me some pictures of his family. After complementing him on a picture of him and his wife, he hesitated for a moment...and then surprised me. For the first time in our friendship, Faisal truly opened up. Actually, he said in his solidly accented English, there is... some problem with my wife.... I leaned in. He went into detail about some conflicts between his side of the family and his spouse. My eyes widened as I expressed sympathy. Faisal told me that’s the real reason his wife had gone away for several months. When I had messaged him earlier in the summer and he hadn’t responded, he explained, that was why. He was stressed and preoccupied with dealing with the situation. Though he keeps his head up about it, I can tell he’s really taken a hit as a man and a husband. I prayed with him for his wife and family right there sitting in the coffee shop. Faisal thanked me sincerely. Then he walked across the road to the mosque to do his sunset prayers. If an Arab buys you a meal, it's because he considers you a kind acquaintance, but if an Arab shares his struggles with youthen he considers you a real friend. Sometimes it’s tough to share the good news in a land where people seem to have everything together, but I think I am one big step closer with Faisal. Please pray that Jesus, the Prince of Peace, would be unveiled to him and bring peace into his family.

Can you pinpoint a moment when your life was forever changed through revelation of His grace?

"I've been going out more to share about the "News" with local friends and have intentional conversations with them. I can say it's been challenging for this quiet person to speak up and even disagree with the worldviews my friends hold here. But I've found a spark when I share. It's unashamed, light-bearing, truth being shared and it feels good to proclaim that in this dark place knowing that I'm not only speaking to a friend but to powers and principalities of the air (Eph. 3:10)."
