First Baptist Church, Union Point, Georgia

Today, we welcomed Richard Swancey to our pulpit. Richard is retired from General Motors and he is an ordained minister. He and his wife, Donna now reside on the north end of our county. They are members of Bethlehem Baptist Church and they attend the Oconee County campus. Richard has been a good friend to FBC and a faithful prayer warrior. We appreciate him sharing God’s message with our congregation this morning. Rev. Alec Ward will back with us next week. He’s been ...a faithful servant and we are so fortunate to have him sharing and participating in our growing church fellowship. Vacation Bible school is just around the corner. Preliminary plans are underway. Volunteers are always welcome. Please let us know if you’re willing to help. VBS has reached untold numbers of children over the years. Our church recognizes its importance and we remain dedicated to that outreach. Look for further updates as plans develop.

It was a great Easter Service today!

He Is Risen! This week, we are celebrating the resurrection of Christ our Savior. Easter Sunday has always been a special day at FBC and it’s also always been a traditional day of homecoming for many extended and generationally scattered families, all of whom trace their Christian roots back to parents, grandparents, and even great grandparents whom are or once were faithful members of Union Point First Baptist Church. We welcome both old friends and new friends to join us ...in person today at 11:00am at 207 Thornton Street. We aren’t located out by the highway or along any major thoroughfare. Instead, we are located at the exact geographic center of Union Point’s original circular city limits. We are truly centered at the heart of Union Point’s residential neighborhood district. We have a long-standing reputation as a friendly, loving, caring, and traditional church family. We welcome all. He has risen indeed!

This morning, we welcome Rev. Farrett Boswell to our pulpit. His message is being broadcast live on WDDK, DOCK 103.9. We’ve discontinued live Facebook feeds for now because we feel a greater obligation to our longtime partnership with WDDK and our radio ministry. Facebook and other social media outlets will certainly play a role in our ongoing outreach plans. We will record certain aspects of our services to share later. We welcome all to our spacious sanctuary where social distancing is not an issue. We’ve returned to our traditional roots. We feel there is a great need for traditional worship within our extended area and we at Union Point First Baptist welcome all. We have a kind, generous, accepting, and loving church body. Please keep Carolyn Godbee in your prayers. She fell on her way to church Sunday and hit her head. She is in ICU in Athens.
