5/3/2021 A mediator is supposed to render an impartial decision between two parties that are at odds. Most organizations have a Human Resources Department (HR) that addresses the needs or concerns of those on either side of the hierarchical ladder (management or non-management). Unfortunately, there are times when HR does not act as an impartial mediator but renders unfair decisions that benefit those in management over those in non-management positions. Try God today, know that there is a Divine mediator who has more authority than human mediators or HR Departments. Jesus Christ mediates on our behalf and there is no partiality or unfairness in His divine decisions. Peace! 2021 Rev. Velma E. Grant

4/30/2021 Friends may have the ability (sometimes not the desire) to listen to the heavy concerns of other friends. Parents will at times try to bear the financial responsibilities of their children and vice versa happens often. Physicians can recommend treatment that can (or may not) alleviate medical conditions. Friends, parents, and physicians can provide remedies for earthly dilemmas, but there is more to life than earthly dilemmas. Try God today, know that there is someo...ne who not only listens to your heavy concerns but can also bear your heavy concerns. That someone, Jesus Christ, was able to bear the cost that far outweighs any financial responsibilities that a parent or child could incur. The Savior's sacrifice was a surefire cure for the sins of humanity because by "his wounds we are healed." Those wounds provide relief for more than earthly dilemmas, relief for spiritual dilemmas. Praise be to the One whose saving grace brings us peace. Peace! 2021 Rev. Velma E. Grant See more

4/28/2021 Normalized behavior is not always right behavior, especially if the behavior does not promote growth, or hurts others. Hatred and discrimination are the norm for some, while unkindness, and hostility are the norm for others. It would be wonderful for all those people to try something new and develop a new normal. Try God today, embrace the new normal directed by our Savior. This new normal promotes self-growth and does not hurt others. Make the command, love one another, your new normal to replace hate, discrimination, unkindness, and hostility. This new normal is not a suggestion but a requirement for those who are loved by Jesus Christ. "What the world needs now is love, sweet love." Peace! 2021 Rev. Velma E. Grant

4/26/2021 Part of being a leader is understanding your role and your ministry to others. You cannot deviate from that leadership role or use that role solely for your own benefit and to the detriment of others. If your leadership is to the detriment of others then reconsider another model of leadership. Servant leadership suits those who are truly called to be children of the most High. Try God today, know that the Savior understood His role as a leader and His ministry to ot...hers. He did not deviate from that role or use His role as a leader for His own benefit. Jesus's servant leadership benefited humanity then, now, and will in the future. His life was the ransom that was paid for the sins that held humanity captive then, now, and in the future. You should be grateful that you can exhibit servant leadership but not at the cost of ransoming (sacrificing) your own life. Peace! 2021 Rev. Velma E. Grant See more

4/25/2021 It is incomprehensible that some would read this Scripture and still be hateful, prejudiced, or racist. There are no individual names listed in the description of those included in the multitude, so why take a chance on mistreating folks now? After all, it might be wise to consider whether or not you will be included in that great multitude. Try God today, focus your attention on making sure that your spot is guaranteed in the great multitude. Your priority is to be... an example of Jesus Christ who loved, forgave, and said Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone... Walk away from the stones that you are throwing at folks and perfect your life of praise to Jesus, the Lamb Peace! 2021 Rev. Velma E. Grant

10/28/2020 Try and resist the urge "to get back" at folks, mistreat others the way they have mistreated you or be as unkind to them as they have been to you in the past. Try God today, as difficult as it may seem, extend the Savior's love to those who you might think are not worth your time. Peace! Rev. Velma E. Grant

10/27/2020 People who profess to know everything are usually reluctant to accept instructions and will drift from their divine purpose. Try God today, appreciate the sage instructions that will lead to divine revelation and knowledge about our Savior. Peace! Rev. Velma E. Grant

10/26/2020 Make your priorities the lifestyle choices that will keep you focused on doing what is right versus what is popular. Try God today, make the pursuit of divine things primary choices and your secondary efforts will be an added life bonus. Peace! Rev. Velma E. Grant

10/25/2020 Riches are not a prerequisite for generosity because a simple act of kindness will result in joy for both the giver and the receiver. Try God today, know that your generosity will be a refreshing change in a world filled with greed and selfishness. Peace! Rev. Velma E. Grant

10/18/2020 Instead of competing, cheer for others and give the same level of encouragement to those who are a part of the divine community. Try God today, make every attempt to give the same level of encouragement to others as given to you by the Savior. Peace! Rev. Velma E. Grant
