Maribel Perez-Tur is the President of Cocina Foods and leads Food Establishments Pros, an independent foodservice and manufacturing consulting firm in which she works as an advocate for clients to mentor them as they reach and achieve their goals. Ms. Perez-Tur is a veteran in the food industry with nearly 20 years of experience. Growing up in a family of entrepreneurs she had no choice but to follow suit. She worked her way through college as a full time employee, and ult...imately landed in Austin, TX after completing her formal education. In the fall of 2000 her former husband was laid off from his hi-tech job. Always thinking about the possibility of having her own business, she began producing Latin desserts from her garage, using her grandmother’s recipes. She donned her best suit and hit the streets in pursuit of business growth. By 2006 Hispania Foods products were being carried by the largest food service distributors, groceries stores, and some QSR chains. By the end of 2006 the company was acquired by Delphos, OH’s Lakeview Farms. After the acquisition she joined the Lakeview executive team and relocated to Atlanta, GA. It was then that Ms. Perez-Tur worked as a Plant Manager for Lakeview’s Heavenly Cheesecake subsidiary for a few years. Her passion for this industry, including mentoring, networking, and hard work brought her to the next story. Since 2012 Cocina Foods’ goal has been to create unique recipes, made with tons of love that will produce smiles from ear to ear. Making people smile is our mission and we plan to make each customer’s day a little sweeter.
