We welcomed a new restaurant partner on our tour today! @myabuelasfood is a hidden gem right off the beltline in Studioplex. Puerto Rican food is close to my heart as my mother is Puerto Rican. I grew up on a blend of southern and Puerto Rican food. I don’t remember ever having a meal that didn’t include rice and beans. We’re so excited to introduce our guests to some authentic Caribbean eats made by Chef Luis. The south is truly a place where Y’all means all. Delicious take-out eats from @talat_marketatl tonight. You can tell the chef loves to cook by the precise way he cuts his eggplant. No detail overlooked. The red curry was rich and complex with sweet bits of pineapple masquerading as potatoes. The sweetness made me miss Thailand, where I spent several weeks a few years ago. I instantly missed coconut ice cream. I’m excited to try the dessert. It’s a egg white custard with young coconut. But I’m too full. I miss eating out at restaurants. I miss leading my food tours. But delicious meals like this and restaurants finding their way makes it bit easier. #foodtoursatlanta
