For those of you on probation, the Felony Probation Reform, part of Second Chance of Georgia, is advocating for legislative change and is offering attorney help... for those who qualify for assistance in early termination of probation. Please see below: GJP may be able to assist individuals who meet the following criteria: (1) Completed at least 24 months of probation without a violation; (2) Completed all the conditions of their probation; (3) Paid all restitution; and (4) Have no new arrests other than non-serious traffic offenses. GJP is able to represent individuals in early termination proceedings in the following counties: Fulton, DeKalb, Henry, Rockdale, Clayton, Cobb, Fayette, Gwinnett and Douglas. Potential clients should email GJP at [email protected] with their sentence attached or call GJP at 404-827-0027 ext. 231. They also assist in expungement of records for certain felony convictions! Since the passage of Senate Bill 288, certain pardoned felony convictions are now eligible for restriction and sealing (expungement). To learn more, register for our next pardon training on January 28th at 4 PM.

The holidays can be challenging in any year. This year will present special challenges for most all of us, while in the background the music reminds us this is ...the season when our days should be merry and bright. But that’s just not always true. And, it’s okay to be not okay, and it’s okay to ask for help, or just for someone to talk to. We may not be able to be with the people we want to be with this holiday season, but that doesn’t mean we have to go through it alone. Georgia’s 24-Hour Peer2Peer Warm Line provides free and confidential peer support over the phone. The Certified Peer Specialists who answer Warm Line calls are not psychiatrists or counselors. They are everyday people who understand what it is like to experience life’s challenges, who will listen to you, and provide hope and encouragement. Call 888-945-1414 to speak with someone, or visit https://www.gmhcn.org/peer2peer-warm-line to learn more. If you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact Georgia’s 24-Hour Crisis and Access Line at 800-715-4225. We are here for you. And you are not alone. The Peer2Peer Warm Line is operated by the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network and is funded through a contract with Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities.
