Looking for something to do to make a bit of extra money? We are currently seeking a seasonal Beach Concession Clerk! Job responsibilities include running the beach concession, insuring correct change and cash handling procedures, and assisting guests. Other responsibilities will include renting boats, distributing safety gear, and launching boats. This position is temporary (about six months) and the work week is up to 40 hours per week. Candidate MUST be able to work weekends and holidays when scheduled and must be comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs. Candidate must possess a valid drive’s license. Snow update Highway 52 has been cleared. Some slick spots still persist inside the park. Proceed slowly and bundle up!

Good morning everyone! It's another snowy Monday morning here. Please be aware that there is snow on the roads in the park. Please "bear" with us as we continue to clear roads. The snow continues to fall, so there are some slushy and slick spots. Highway 52 has not yet been cleared by the DOT.

Happy New Year! The Black Bear Plunge is still taking place today at 11 am, 12pm, and 1 pm. See you there!

The road to Old Fort is now open.

Good morning everyone! It's a snowy sleepy Tuesday morning at the park today. Please be aware there is some snow on the roads in the park. The road up to Old Fort is closed at this time due to hazardous icy conditions.

This position is 29 hours per week. Your job duties would involve but are not limited to dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash collection, changing and laundering linens, and insuring cabins are cleaned in accordance with the state park standards. If you are interested in joining the team, please stop by the Trading Post between 8am and 5pm to fill out an application and background consent form. Or, you may message us for the paperwork needed.

Power has been restored to Fort Mountain! All roads are now open. Be aware that there are still trees down on trails that may require hikers to climb over/through.

Please be advised that Fort Mountain is currently without power and water. If you have reservations, please call the park for more information. The road to the Old Fort is currently closed, the only trails open are the Lake trail and Big Rock Trail. No restroom facilities are available for hikers.

We are starting to see some fall color in the park. The dogwoods and sourwoods are showing their deep red leaves. Even some of the maples are beginning to change. Happy Friday! Just a reminder to plan ahead for the sixth annual teardrop half marathon this Sunday, September 13. Westbound traffic on Highway 52 from the Overlook Inn to Chatsworth will be closed between 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM.
