Friends of Sweetwater Creek State Park

Today's after-meeting service project was to repair this dock next to the boat ramp. We meet every third Saturday of the month at 9:00. We would love to have more people that enjoy taking care of our favorite state park.

Today your beloved park got a whole lot cleaner. Thanks to all the amazing paddlers and hikers who came out to participate in Sweep the Hooch day at Sweetwater Creek State Park! A Job well done.

We are very sad to announce the passing of Sweetwater Creek State Park's biggest volunteer, George Giddens. George was 85 years old and grew up around the land that would later become the park in 1972. Once we tried to figure out how many hours he volunteered in one year, it was over 5,000. We used to joke that he seemed to live there. George will be greatly missed by all.
