Time to celebrate! The Cherry Grove Baptist Church Schoolhouse has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Thanks go out to Cherry Grove Church... for sponsoring and Kathryn and Ed Anderson for working so diligently to research and provide the paperwork. And the Washington-Wilkes Historical Foundation and other individuals for cooperating in this wonderful endeavor. Announced today by the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Historic Preservation Division. Good news for preserving our county's history and heritage.
