The first coat of finish is on. I’m liking how it’s turning out.

More progress on the display box. I love the knots that add character to the frame.

I haven’t turned anything in way too long. Tonight I made an icecream scoop handle out of....yep black walnut. I love the way it turned out. It’s a gift for Carleigh Futral’s mission present. I will have to overnight it so she can give it to him in person the day before she comes home lol.

Started this black walnut segmented bowl over a year ago and never got around to finishing it. Finally got it done as a thank you gift for a friend. Love how it turned out.

One of my favorite things to do in the shop is turn bowls. Here are some I’ve over the last few months. Some as gifts and some available for sale.

I’ve had a couple of people ask me what I was making in my latest story post. They are simple boxes called apple boxes. These are used for many different purposes on tv and movie sets. I make them for a company that rents movie and tv equipment and provides consulting in that industry. I’ve made hundreds of them over the last three years. The are all 12x20 and come in four heights 8 (full), 4 (half), 2, (quarter) and 1 (eighth or pancake). It’s been a fun little money maker for me. Here’s some pics of different orders over the last few months.

So I got a new track saw as a year end tax write off dead on accurate and so much easier to break down sheet goods with. Makita makes good stuff!!! #MakitatoolsUSA

Gonna use some scrap to make this drill charge/storage and sanding storage cabinet. Had fun designing it on Sketchup.
