Good afternoon, Henry County Schools Families, Henry County Schools’ buildings will be closed and remote learning operations are canceled for Thursday, October... 29 due to the expected severe weather impact from Tropical Storm Zeta. Additionally, the prospect of power outages poses significant interruptions to all remote operations including teaching and learning. After discussions and meetings with our valued weather professionals and emergency management partners in the county, the impact on Henry County is projected to be significant and we don’t want to put any of our students or staff at risk during this weather event. Furthermore, all extracurricular activities and athletic events are canceled for October 29. Students involved in any of these activities should check with their coach or sponsor for additional information. Thank you for your patience as we work to make the most informed, practical, and sound decisions for the safety of our 43,000 plus students, 6,000 plus employees, and their families. Please use extreme caution and stay safe during this weather event. We will provide updates as necessary.
