COVID-19 Vaccine Codes: Updated Effective Date for Pfizer-BioNTech On December 11, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID 19 Vaccine for the prevention of COVID-19 for individuals 16 years of age and older. Review Pfizer’s Fact Sheet for Healthcare Providers Administering Vaccine (Vaccination Providers) regarding the limitations of authorized use.... During the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE), Medicare will cover and pay for the administration of the vaccine (when furnished consistent with the EUA). Review our updated payment and HCPCS Level I CPT code structure for specific COVID-19 vaccine information. Only bill for the vaccine administration codes when you submit claims to Medicare; don’t include the vaccine product codes when vaccines are free. https://www.fda.gov//coro/pfizer-biontech-covid-19-vaccine

I.M. Still Making a Difference in Georgia The Georgia Chapter of the ACP encourages its members to get involved in volunteer community service throughout the State in the months of November, 2020 through February, 2021. The Chapter seeks to identify ACP Georgia members as they serve others in their communities. This has been a difficult year for many and the need is great in many communities. The Chapter would like to recognize members giving back in their communities with th...eir volunteer work. Specifically, the goal is to exceed 100 Chapter members in any type of volunteerism. This may be done by individuals or by groups. Group projects (with COVID-19 precautions) are especially desired as a way to make new connections and to build comradery among Chapter members. Some examples of community service include: - Working in free clinics - Health fairs/screenings - Food pantry work or donations - Gift or Diaper drives to benefit the community - Feeding the homeless - Fund raising for community charities Really, any beneficent activity you can imagine that would benefit your community is what is desired. This year, we seek to expand our geographic reach to include some work in at least 10 of Georgia's 14 U.S. Congressional Districts (see the map, below). Don’t let your Congressional District be left out of the reporting! If possible, take photographs of the work and share them with the Chapter so that we can publicize the good work of our members. Let us know how you're Still Making a Difference by completing this brief survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7D6L3Y9 Please email pictures to [email protected]
