Last Saturday, April 24, 2021, some of our students had the opportunity to come to our Welding Bay for a hands-on training experience. They worked together with Randy Beall, our Executive Director, and Jeremy Fullbright, our Construction Manager, to learn about how to safely and effectively work with the welding bays! Day #24 of our #WhyYouthBuild series! #whyyouthbuildwednesday Reason 24: Once participants graduate from our program they have a direct line into one of our partner apprenticeship programs! Our organization prioritizes career readiness and success by teaching students how to succeed in their chosen field, providing Career Specialists to help with placement, and hosting interview and resume workshops! Our grafuates don't have to worry about being accepting into an apprenticeship because they already have a foot in the door.

For today's #TradeToolsThursday we are telling you all about the chisel! A chisel is a type of wedged tool most often used with carpentry or other woodwork. It can get rid of bumps on wooden services and can also be used to get rid of concrete bumps on concrete surfaces. It can also be used to remove excess concrete after a surface has already hardened to prevent other tools from getting dirty over the same work.
