It's always important to keep track of your baby's development as early detection and early intervention of delays are crucial. Read this guide for info on how to identify early delays in your child. "The goal of early detection is to have babies learn proper movement at its appropriate time of development. Research suggests it takes between 300-350 repetitions to build a new motor or movement pattern; however, it can take 3000-5000 repetition to re-train the proper movement. This means that it is much easier to learn to do something right the first time then try to correct something after it has already been learned." #developmentalpediatrics #developmentaldelay #pediatrics #pediatrician

If you're a parent of a child with a disability, you might feel unsure of how to help them cope with the ongoing pandemic. Check out this pediatrician's advice on helping your child understand and adjust to these uncertain times. "Monitor your child's feelings. As you know, even if your child has limited speech, they are communicating with you through actions. Increased restlessness, tantrums, or sleeping or eating poorly may be signs of stress or worry. Give your child extra hugs and positive words to show you understand how they feel." #developmentalpediatrics #developmentaldisabilities #pediatrics #pediatrician
