It's been quite some time since we've felt comfortable about getting together for a social event after this past year and constantly dealing with restrictions from Covid, but yesterday we were able to treat the wives, fiancés, and girlfriends of Jaycees members to a special winery tour in Dahlonega and Cleveland. We really couldn't have asked for better weather. We had a fantastic time, and it was nice to see so many folks out and about enjoying the basic freedoms that we have taken for granted for so long. Thanks to Kaya Vineyard & Winery, Cavendar Creek Vineyards, and Tantrum Brewing Company for hosting us!

We join those in our community, and beyond, who are mourning the passing of a true titan of industry, a philanthropist with an unimpeachable reputation that was second to none, a great friend, and of course his most important quality was his love for his family. Mr. Jim Walters has left this world behind but in so doing he has reminded us all of just how significant the impact of one person can be. His jovial attitude towards his fellow man and woman, his compassion for those... in need, his selflessness for literally hundreds, if not thousands, of those who benefitted from his philanthropic giving-- will be sorely missed. Many who knew him as a friend, colleague, or even acquaintance will likely be remised if they didn't accurately describe him by his affectionate nick name, "Big Jim." A name only befitting of someone who was truly larger than life, and who loved to share in his passions as much as he cared for the passions of others. Rest easy, Jim. Your race is finished now.

We'd like to thank Mt Vernon Elementary for having us out this past weekend to help spruce up the nature trail on the edge of the property. Nature trails provide an invaluable experience for the little ones as they're growing up. Not just for taking in the splendor of nature itself, but also for seeing all manner of wildlife, insects, plants, etc. We hope that the kids will be able to enjoy a fresh trim and blowout of the trail in their sunny days on campus, as we all know ...that they too desire to feel like kids again during these still unprecedented times. #gainesvillejaycees #bestworkoflife

We'd like to thank Joy Duncan from Rehabilitation Industries of Northeast GA, otherwise known as RING, for coming to our lunch today and speaking with us about the important work they are doing over there helping to supply meaningful labor to those with disabilities and those simply having a tough time seeking gainful employment. Joy does a tremendous job helping RING function on a daily basis, and along with a devoted board of directors, has a vision to take the organization... into the future with how the shift in businesses' needs are moving. If you own, or know someone who owns a business, who could benefit from their services then please give Joy a call at RING, (770)535-7464. They offer a plethora of services for businesses to utilize, with much more reasonable pricing than to hire an employee for your business to do things that must be done by a person but aren't worth the amount of overhead it takes to get it done. They'd love for your business to come and tour their facilities, or to give you their references of other corporations who utilize some of their current staff who work on-site with the company doing similar style work that they do at their own RING facility. The Jaycees helped jumpstart RING almost 52 years ago, and we're excited to see where the next 52 years help lead RING and the impact it will make on individuals and their families. http://www.rehabindustries.org/
