Happy Martin Luther King, Jr., Day!
Good morning and welcome to 2021! We hope it's great, but really, could it be any more insane than 2020? #happynewyear
Merry Christmas from The Lighthouse! Have a great day!
Thanks to Drs. Michael and Kelly Dasinger, the Lighthouse mobile clinic served 9 patients in Dahlonega on Saturday! We our volunteer doctors!
Mobile clinic crushed it once again at First Choice Primary Care in Macon! The inimitable Dr. Carver saw 12 patients. Our thanks to case manager Antoiane Harrington and Outreach Coordinator Felecia Cornelius for making sure everything ran smoothly!
It definitely takes a village to make any event successful, and we had some pretty fantastic villagers on board for our Savannah initiative last week! Thanks to owner Robin and the team at Flower General (FlowerGeneral.com) for the donated floral arrangements for the reception on Thursday night, and to Ackron and his mom for sharing their experience with reception attendees. For Friday's clinic, shout out to Lois and the team at Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision for ...providing a venue and being awesome to work with, as well as our rock star optometrist, Dr. Carver! She saw 18 patients. Saturday's 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest wouldn't have been a success without the wonderful folks at Calvary Baptist Temple (high fives in particular to Sarah and Dr. Bosson!) and volunteers provided by the Pooler Lions Club. Hat tip to the Savannah Dunkin' for donating five dozen donuts & coffee to fuel them! HUGE thank you to our fabulous exhibitors for showing up and serving with all their hearts on a Saturday. J.C. The 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest is underway!
Our sincere thanks to Savannah Center for Blind and Low Vision for hosting an awesome reception last night and our FIRST big-new-van clinic today, as well as the highest of fives to Len Cutuli and the Pooler Lions Club - for their generous donation to The Lighthouse and for supplying virtually ALL the volunteers for the 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest tomorrow.
Second MedLink trip of the week! On Wednesday the mobile clinic went to Bowman, Ga., where the marvelous Dr. Carver saw 8 patients and gave Jessica and Jachoia plush bacteria. #bestdayever
Dawsonville mobile clinic - Thanks to volunteer optometrist Dr. Burke and volunteers Audrey, Donna, and Candy!
How about this good-looking group of exhibitors?! They'll all be there next Saturday, Oct. 24, at Calvary Baptist Temple to share resources for affordable care. We'll see them (and you, we hope!) at the 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest!
Happy Friday! Alicia and Kisha are so excited about the new mobile clinic van that they don't even care how extra they look. Seriously though, we're ready to get back on the road and back to serving Georgians in need!
We have so many cool things in the works that we're scrambling to keep up, but it's GREAT! - Seeing You Through COVID-19: still happening every Friday! Come get some glasses (or an eye exam through Mercy Care!) - 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest: Savannah will never be the same. - Sightseeing Through Georgia: Neither will the rest of the state tbh
Grateful but not at all surprised by Vitalysys Technologies' generous sponsorship of the 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest! McBride and his team are pretty awesome.
The Savannah event keeps growing and we've got it on good authority that there will be flu vaccines, diabetes screening, and even COVID-19 tests available. Hope to see you there!
IT'S HERE! The Lighthouse's new rolling optometrist office has been delivered! We're so excited to get started! #newvanwhodis
We are thrilled to share that the 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest is growing by leaps and bounds! We welcomed Georgia Power as a sponsor on Friday and our list of exhibitors continues to grow. Special thanks to Pooler Lions Club for their amazing help getting the ball rolling!
Last Saturday a masked Dr. Arpita Bhasin saw patients at Healing Bridge Clinic in Peachtree City, and we are so grateful for her service! (Clinics are slowly coming back, and don't worry - we're being extra careful!)
Get ready, Savannah! We're bringing the 1st Annual Harvest Health Fest to YOU! HHF is a Lighthouse initiative aimed at bringing together community health resources for those in need at one place and time for a one-stop healthcare shop. We can't wait! Visit HarvestHealthFest.org to learn more and register. It's FREE for all!
