Atlanta, GA - Gammon Theological Seminary is the United Methodist constituent member of the Interdenominational Theological Center (ITC), a consortium of six hi...storically African American theological schools. On December 1, 2020, Gammon will celebrate its 137th year of service to the Church and community. This year, due to COVID-19, all sessions and activities are being offered virtually. We will be utilizing Facebook, ZOOM and Gammon’s Website to ensure Founders’ Day reaches our students, alumni and friends. 2020 Founders’ Day will include the following: A Book Study, Worship and Virtual Telethon Fundraiser. Founders’ Day Worship Service will be on ZOOM and Live on Facebook. Please join us Tuesday, December 1st at 11:00 a.m. The 2020 Founders’ Day theme is: Racism: The Challenge to Prophetic Leaders. We are honored Bishop James Swanson has agreed to be the opening speaker for this Founders’ Day celebration. We know Bishop Swanson has a prophetic word for Gammon, the students, alumni and friends. There will also be a stimulating review of the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller, The Color of Compromise: The Truth about the American Church’s Complicity in Racism written by Jemar Tisby. Join the Rev. Dr. B. Kevin Smalls at 10am to participate in this 81ST THIRKIELD-JONES LECTURE. In addition to the formal review, there will be break out sessions designed to give each participant the opportunity to join the conversation and share their thoughts and opinions. To register for this Founders’ Day event, please visit our website at www.gammon-itc.org. In addition, Gammon is hosting a Telethon to assist future students with the cost of seminary. Currently, the cost of tuition at Gammon/ITC is $7,000 per student per semester. You can support a student by donating to the scholarship fund. Please call on December 1st at 404.581.0300 or click here to Give Now. If you have any questions please email the Telethon chairperson Rev. Tanya Pittman [email protected] or call the seminary at 404.581.0300.
