It is with sadness that PBUS announces that Beth Chapman, President/Chairperson of the Board of Directors, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2019. Alice Elizab...eth Smith was born in Denver, CO. She married Duane Dog Chapman in Hawaii in May 2006 and they have residences in Hawaii and Colorado. Mrs. Chapman was a bail agent and television personality with a following nationwide. Mrs. Chapman was first elected to the Board of Directors in February 2014. She was elected as President/Chairperson of the Board in February 2016 and re-elected in 2018. Mrs. Chapman was serving her second term. Mrs. Chapman played a vital role within PBUS, using her celebrity status to open doors in Washington, DC and numerous state legislators’ office across the country to advocate for the role commercial bail plays in the criminal justice system. Along with her husband Duane Dog Chapman, they starred on the show, Dog and Beth: On the Hunt on CMT in an effort to help struggling bail bond companies nationwide. Their first show, Dog the Bounty Hunter, ran for eight seasons on A&E. They were currently filming a new show called, Dog’s Most Wanted, on WGN America. Mrs. Chapman was the youngest individual to receive her Colorado bail license until her stepdaughter Lyssa beat her record. An astute businesswoman, Mrs. Chapman operated several retail stores and bail operations in Colorado and Hawaii. She was also a social media guru, with postings on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. She will be missed by her fans, friends and especially her family. Rest in peace Beth. See more
