I'm starting to work on holiday stories. Anyone out there have some unusual holiday traditions that they'd like to share with me for an article?

From Haralson County Schools: Because of power outage, Haralson County Schools has cancelled classes tomorrow.

From Bremen City Schools: The power companies have been working hard and we appreciate their efforts very much; but with so much damage, it doesn’t appear that power will be restored at JES or BHS by in the morning. To give parents time to make arrangements for children, we’ve decided the best option is to cancel school tomorrow for all students & staff. The following will still occur: BHS Cross Country at Region in Heard - 10:00... BHS Softball at State in Columbus - 3:00 BHS Football/Band/Cheer at Callaway - 7:30 Coaches will communicate any changes.

From West Georgia Technical College: West Georgia Technical College will be closed Friday, Oct. 30, due to widespread power outages in our service area including two of our campuses. Crews are working to restore power. We expect to reopen for normal operations on Monday, Nov. 2. Please monitor email, social media and the College website for updates on Sunday to confirm Monday’s operating schedule.

So if you're keeping track, Bremen City Schools and Haralson County Schools are closed to students on Thursday. Haralson County staff are expected to report at 10 a.m. And WGTC will delay opening on Thursday until 10 a.m.

From West Georgia Technical College: Due to the potential for inclement weather conditions, West Georgia Technical College will have a delayed opening at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. College officials will be monitoring conditions closely overnight Wednesday and into Thursday and will announce any additional schedule changes Thursday morning if needed. Please continue to monitor email, social media and the College website for updates.

From Bremen City Schools: The intensity and path of Hurricane Zeta has become a concern, especially in light of its anticipated arrival to our area. The forecast places it here during our morning transition to school. We considered a delay but by the time we do that, we have already created an inconvenience for parents. Additionally, it's hard to have a "normal" day with a delay. Therefore, school is cancelled for tomorrow, Oct. 29 for all students and staff. It is not a virtual learning day either. Changes to any after school, extracurricular events will be communicated to parents from coaches and sponsors.

From Haralson County Schools: We will be closed for students on Thursday, Oct. 29, due to inclement weather. Staff is to report at 10 a.m.
