Georgia Veterans Education Career Transition Resource Center

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced a May 12 start date for its Emergency Broadband Benefit Program that aims to provide subsidies for students struggling to pay for internet amid the pandemic. This program is not limited to just Technical Education students receiving Federal Financial Aid. Eligibility criteria can be found at: https://getemergencybroadband.org/do-i-qualify/ The program will allow eligible households to receive substantially subsidized b...roadband service ($50 monthly subsidy for most, $75 monthly subsidy for those on tribal lands) and devices ($100 one-time subsidy for a device). The FCC is urging individuals to familiarize themselves with the registration process so that on May 12, they’ll be able to enroll and work through the FCC verification process as soon as the program is live. The Transition and Care Management Team (TCM) is hosting its weekly Virtual Transition Briefing for Transitioning Service Members. This briefing is targeting Post/911 veterans, but is open to all veterans that want to obtain more information about VA benefits and services. Team River Runner believes every wounded and disabled veteran deserves the opportunity to embrace new challenges, invoke leadership, and promote camaraderie. Team River Runner provides an outlet to fulfill these beliefs inviting wounded and disabled war veterans and their families to participate in adaptive paddling programs.

The Carl VA Medical Center has opened COVID vaccines up to all veterans regardless of enrollment in VA Health or characterization of service. All veterans and their spouses can now get the vaccine by calling 1-800-595-5229 or (478) 277-6762 to get scheduled. VECTR is proud to partner with the Dublin VA Medical Center as a host site for the vaccination!
