I was honored to join a 3rd grade class remotely this past week to help the students learn about rocks, minerals, and gems. What an awesome experience getting to interact with these young minds.

We hope that you, your family and friends are in good health and in good spirits. It appears that these interesting times will continue for a while yet. We wanted to take a moment to let you know that Gemcorp is open and operating every weekday for your jewelry appraisal and consultation needs; undeniably at a different level than before this pandemic. Client appointments are being spaced out a little longer, allowing us time to clean and disinfect those areas of the office t...hat were used. As much as we’d like to shake your hand, we won’t be doing that for the foreseeable future. In short, doing our best to adhere to or exceed the virus safety protocols that are in alignment with the CDC and the State, adjusting as those directives may change. As many of you know, we provide consulting services for many auction galleries and immediate buyers of diamonds, jewelry, gold etc. Nearly all of them are up and running again, with a few exceptions. In addition to their on-line advertising being restarted, those galleries and buyers have encouraged us to solicit our client base for items they wish to sell. We are providing the grading and obtaining an immediate offer at no cost to our clients. (We are paid by the buyer). When you call to make an appointment, just let us know what you have and we’ll direct you to the buyer most likely to give you the highest offer. In most cases, we still have to see the item to get you that offer. In the meantime, stay safe, continue to wash your hands and be mindful about your activities. Hello everyone! Hope this finds you and yours healthy and well while we traverse this shared experience. A friend posted a fabulous idea for a productive endeavor while we shelter in place - a memory log of your jewelry!! Essentially, visit your jewelry box and write down the details of when you received it, who gave it to you; if inherited, who from and any other memories you have. Writing it down provides a record for the next generation - we all love stories! ... Our clients, employees, families and friends have always been our highest priority. Until now, one-on-one appointments have allowed us to serve our clients in these trying times. The City of Sandy Springs has now asked for the closure of all non-essential businesses to reduce the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Starting March 27, 2020, and until the Covid-19 alert passes, we will be closed. Do keep in touch please! We will be monitoring emails and phone messages and will respond as soon as we can. Everyday life has changed for us all - but it will pass. Thank you for supporting Local Business whenever you can.

To Our Valued Friends and Clients: Our clients, employees, families, and friends have always been our highest priority at Gemcorp. Since this pandemic reared its pervasive little head, we have taken every precaution necessary to maintain a safe business environment: one on one clients only, time between each client to disinfect the office, and limited business hours. Certainly not business as usual, but doing our best to meet the needs of our clients. Some of those needs a...re high priority. People are still needing asset valuations for mortgages they have applied for, new and updated values for changing insurance companies and, especially now, marketable cash value to sell their jewelry to meet immediate needs. In essence, we are functioning at a Minimum Basic Operational level to assist those clients and will continue to do so until a pause is required. That could be at any moment. During this time, please do everything possible to keep healthy (wash hands frequently), love and take care of your families. As situations change, we will be sure to pass it on.

We have received a couple of calls from Financial and Estate Planners inquiring about professional independent jewelry appraisals on behalf of their clients. Have scheduled one for next month. Great opportunity to review risk and value during some of the down time instead of movies - unless of course it a Star Wars binge! We are still limiting hours and appointments and will continue to do so as long as we can. Only one client at a time and disinfecting after each client. Wishing everyone well.

AN OPEN LETTER TO OUR CLIENTS AND FRIENDS: Because our primary concern is and has always been the security, health and safety of our employees and clients, in light of recent coronavirus (COVID-19) worries, we want to let you know that we are doing everything possible to minimize any risk in our office. We are closely following the latest leadership from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), federal and local government and public health agencies to keep our office safe and ...to mitigate any risk. Our employees uphold and practice the following precautionary measures: 1. We make regular and proper handwashing a priority. 2. All office surfaces, door knobs, chairs are sanitized several times each day and after every client visit. 3. Any employee that feels the least bit unwell will stay home. 4. Appointments for clients who do not feel well will be cheerfully rescheduled. 5. Drop-off of items for appraisal is strongly encouraged. Office insurance coverage will be increased as any increase in exposure demands it be. 6. All jewelry will be cleaned and disinfected in as much as the material can safety tolerate such cleaning. Porous gem and jewelry materials do pose limitations. Gemcorp, Inc. is committed to keeping you protected while in our office during your appointment and reassure you that we are taking additional precautions to keep our little part of Atlanta highly sanitized. We are fully prepared to navigate these challenging circumstances with our clients and public well-being in mind. Also, it is an opportune time to review your current insurance coverage to make certain your fine jewelry and watch values are up to date. Our office currently remains open for business and new appointments are being scheduled.
