The YLD and YLD President Bert Hummel are excited to announce the launch of our Poll Worker Program offering up to 6 Hours of CLE credit for Georgia attorneys who volunteer to serve as poll workers for the upcoming General Election on Nov. 3. This program is a unique, one-time offer, and we are proud to be one of the first bar associations in the country to offer this type of program. Those wishing to take part must contact the Board of Elections in their county of residence ...to volunteer as a poll worker and to receive their poll worker training regarding election laws, procedures and voting technology. In order to qualify for CLE credit, volunteers must complete the required training and work at least two hours at their assigned polling location. Because poll workers receive financial compensation, volunteers will be required to donate their earnings to the State Bar to cover the costs of CLE credit and help fund the YLD’s Public Interest Internship Program, which provides a limited number of grants to law students that complete a qualifying summer internship at a public interest organization.
