What any logical person ought to ask is, ‘Why is the LSTA so emphatic and dogmatic that it is going to make political campaign contributions come Hell or high water?’ It just may be that making such contributions assists greatly in DAs like East Baton Rouge District Attorney Hillar Moore finding creative ways to perform acts like dropping all felony charges against former LSTA Executive Director David Young."

SDUSM Robert Ledogar whose twenty-five-year career as a Deputy U.S. Marshal was reportedly destroyed in retaliation for standing up and defending a gay female Deputy U.S. Marshal who was allegedly being targeted with physical assault, sexual harassment, and other unlawful discriminatory conduct by certain officers in the workplace. . . . Over the next four-and-a-half years, however, SDUSM Ledogar was made the target of at least four Internal Affairs investigations and subje...cted to a half-dozen interviews, all concerning allegations fabricated by the very officers whose alleged misconduct he had documented. It appears the baselessness of these allegations was patently obvious and known to the agency with three of the investigations being ruled unsubstantiated. However, the agency ultimately terminated SDUSM Ledogar from service just two months shy of his eligibility for retirement with full benefits. See more

Took over a decade of fighting for this win and NO, we the general public did NOT have her back. It’s time for a new normal with regard to our support of good faith U.S. law enforcement truth tellers. In the meantime, congratulations former Buffalo police Officer Cariole Horne. Today the State of New York Supreme Court vacated and annulled the City of Buffalo's decision to fire her and take her benefits. She'll be getting her pension, benefits, and back-pay from 2010.

This problem impacts U.S. correctional officers and Golden Badge supporters need to mobilize in support of those willing to speak out against abuse taking place behind the walls!
