May our land be a land of liberty, the seat of virtue, the asylum of the oppressed, a name and a praise in the whole Earth, until the last shock of time shall bury the empires of the whole world in one common undistinguished ruin! Joseph Warren Happy Fourth of July!

Dear GHA/YA Community: The GHA/YA community was devastated to learn of the senseless killings of the three Israeli teenagers, Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel,16, z"l, who were kidnapped near their school on June 12, 2014. As members of the global Jewish community, we are united in our deep sorrow. Our hearts go out to the boys' families, to the people of Israel, and to all of those who waited and prayed for their safe return. Sadly, we now must remember... and mourn the loss of these young men. For those interested in sending letters of condolence to the boys' families, please click here. In a demonstration of solidarity and support, the Jewish Federation of Greater Atlanta, along with the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast and the Atlanta Rabbinical Association, is convening a community-wide memorial service. Please join us: Place: Ahavath Achim Synagogue Date: Tonight, Wednesday, July 2 Time: 6:30 p.m. May the families be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem.

"Our tears go out to the families of Eyal, Gilad and Naftali. We are with them in grief. We will neither forget the young victims nor what they lived for: the right that everyone on earth should enjoy, to live a life of faith without fear. "Bila hamavet lanetzach: 'May He destroy death forever, and may the Lord God wipe away the tears from all faces.' May the God of life, in whose image we are, teach all humanity to serve Him by sanctifying life." --Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

It's always fun to run into people from home when you're visiting Israel! Director of Development Michelle Langer was spotted by one of our families, and of course, the awesome t-shirt helped with identification...

We are delighted to announce that, in order to keep pace with a flood of new applications for the coming year, GHA is expanding its infant and toddler program. We're doubling the space for the K’far section of the Infant and Toddler Village (ITV). Children between the ages of six weeks and two years will enjoy an entirely new room during the 2014-2015 school year, enabling the school to serve more children through this exceptional program. Which means that we have room to enroll more babies in the K'far again!

In the Talmud (Brachot 57a) it says that if you are a scholar and you dream of pomegranates, you may hope to learn more Torah. We hope that this peek at the pomegranates growing in GHA's garden inspires our scholars to dream big while they're resting this summer...
