Human nature is comfortable. And we are never standing still, we’re either moving forward or we’re moving backwards. If you are not uncomfortable, you’re moving backwards. -James Lawrence . GET UNCOMFORTABLE! (finishing up at Centennial Olympic Park)
The measure of any great civilization is in its cities, and the measure of a city's greatness is to be found in the quality of its public spaces, its parks and squares. ~John Ruskin

What Are We Building? Titles or Testimonies? This month we moved from the shop my Father helped me build in 2000 in Jonesboro; where I grew up. The moment has been bittersweet but not for the reasons you might think. In ‘99 my Dad first knocked on Mrs. English’s door and asked if she was interested in selling her 9 acres to me (it was not for sale). My Dad next loaned me pretty much every dollar he and my grandmother had to acquire the land and construct the building until ...I could get a loan to pay him back. (The loan is another story) Then he literally helped me grade the lot, frame out the offices and pour the slab. Talk about believing in someone. When I took this picture, we had just moved in and this was every tangible thing I owned. I was a proud business owner, but if you zoom in, half of the equipment is push spreaders. In the beginning, starting with nothing, you think that’s what you’re working for... to add equipment, titles or even material wealth. Real wealth is built by testimonies not titles. When we decide to impact people’s lives and believe in someone so much you are willing to invest your physical, material and emotional capital, you are building testimonies. This takes an enormous volume of trust. In 2015, I met Dr. Tony Campolo who said One of these days they are going to put you in the ground, throw dirt on your face and go back to your house and eat potato salad. When that happens, will you have just titles or will you have testimonies?" Will people be lining up to tell stories like this? When my Father took a chance on me? When you came into this world you were the only one crying and everyone was happy. When you die will you be the only one happy with everyone else left crying? It’s what this building means to me, where a Father risks it all and teaches his son how to invest in others. See more
Putting the finishing touches on Centennial Olympic Park. Bring on The Big Game!
A passion for the created is within all of us. We are made for community and this company is powered by some amazing people. For that we are thankful.
It was a lovely day for a first look at our newly relocated south side office. We are thankful for the growth that has led to this property. (Also, it’s not far from the original Chick-fil-A so that has to be good, right? )
You only get one chance at a first impression
