With a Biden presidency, there is new hope for immigrants and their families. Here are a few things that Biden has promised to do in his first 100 days as President: -Restore DACA, the program which grants temporary legal status to people who were brought to the US as children; -Reverse the public charge rule, which makes obtaining legal status more difficult for low-income immigrants; -Rescind the bans against people from majority-Muslim countries; -Streamline the natur...alization process so that it's easier for LPRs to become US citizens; -End Trump's family separation policy; -End asylum policies which block asylum to people who passed through other countries prior to coming to the US; -Focus immigration enforcement on people who are threats to public safety and national security, rather than people without criminal records. If implemented, these changes will go a long way towards improving our immigration system. GlassHessLaw is here to help you understand these changes and support you in your search for the American Dream. Let's get ready! See more

Trump issued an executive order yesterday. Here are the important points: For the next 60 days, no immigrants will be allowed into the United States. This order does NOT apply to: 1. People already inside the US; 2. Non-immigrant visas (such as temporary agricultural workers, tourists, etc) 3. Immigrants who already have a valid visa or travel document; ... 4. Lawful permanent residents (green card holders); 5. Immigrants who are entering as a health care professional, health researcher, or to perform work essential to combatting Covid-19; 6. EB-5 immigrant investors; 7. Spouses and children of US citizens; 8. Immigrants who will help with law enforcement objectives or whose entry is in the US national interest; 9. Spouses and children of members of the military; 10. Certain immigrants with Special Immigrant visas. The order does not prevent people from applying for refugee and asylee status. This is just one more attempt by this president to blame immigrants for America's problems, and to distract attention from his lack of leadership. Immigrants make this country great; immigrants are some of our best citizens. Trump will not last. Keep fighting.

Three days, three people released from immigration detention! Parole on Wednesday, bond granted after 5 months and three bond motions on Thursday, and bond granted today where my client originally had been given a negative credible fear finding-- I argued successfully to have the asylum office reverse the finding, and this morning the judge granted bond! Three men going home to their families!
