Rain could not dampen Glennville’s annual Celebration of the Season. Santa Claus arrived at 5:00 p.m. with much fanfare in the first Friends of Glennwanis Christmas Golf Cart Parade. Led by beautifully-adorned vehicles and escorted by two merry elves, Santa made his arrival in Glennville, traveling through the Barnard Street festivities and ending at the Glennwanis Hotel. The Friends of the Glennwanis Hotel would like to thank everyone who participated in the parade, which ...was a wonderful and enjoyable event for our community. The joy on the children’s faces and the community spirit welcomed the Christmas season! The Friends of Glennwanis will be hosting the parade again next year. Please join us. Merry Christmas to all! Christmas at the Glennwanis! Rain hasn’t dampened Glennville’s annual Celebration of the Season.

Don’t forget our Golf Cart Christmas Parade, one week from today! Deck your golf cart or mule with the best holiday décor and join us in announcing the arrival of Santa for Glennville’s Celebration of the Season festivities on Friday, December 4, 2020. There will be no entry fee, but a donation to the Friends of the Glennwanis Hotel for the restoration of the historic hotel would be appreciated. Parade lineup will be at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, December 4, in the parking lot of... Restoration Pointe Church of God located at the corner of South Caswell and Institute Streets, across from the parking lot of Cadence Bank. The parade will begin at 4:45 p.m. The parade route will begin at Subway and continue down Barnard Street to the Glennwanis Hotel. Show your Christmas spirit, decorate your golf cart, and join the parade. The Glennwanis Hotel is decorated for Christmas! Thanks to Clinton and Kay Dasher for donating the Christmas trees, to Jessica Kennedy for donating the lights, and to Marilyn Carter for donating the red ribbons. Thanks also to Mayor Bernie Weaver, Paulette Weaver, Ronnie and Paula King, Matt and Lauren King Ellard, Marilyn Carter, and Dylan Mulligan for assisting in decorating the hotel.
