Now I am posting this so actors can understand what a A-List actor is so they can be mindful of what they request of a Independent filmmaker. So many want to de...mand or ask for payment which is ok but you have to be mindful of the budget and if it's not a fit please just say, NO. A A-List actor promotes the film, the filmmaker, all related events to increase advertising and investors. If you are not willing to be or do what A-List actor does do not put demands out. A Filmmaker do not get paid for you to performer the character they get paid on the success of the project and if you are not contributing to that success you should not demand anything. Respectfully, filmmakers want to take care of their actors. I know I do when I can, but as an actor it would work best if we can work as team players instead of going against the grind of the efforts of the filmmaker that believes in you enough to cast you for their project. The least you can do is not become a negative force against them or the project, discouraging other actors affecting their career opportunity. Also, be mindful if the project isn't a fit to your position as an actor don't burn the bridge so if a project later down the road becomes a fit you haven't damaged the relationship (yes relationship) of the filmmaker, allow the door to remain open for consideration if not a recommendation for networking options. Try seeing the bigger picture. You 're asking a independent filmmaker to operate as a Hollywood filmmaker with a big budget when that is not the case. If that was the case we would have that big budget for A-List actors and open to casting you because of a supportive relationship from the proven work and work ethics presented. Understand, No one is trying to use you. But consider the benefit of filming the project. (A reel, a resume of work, and a door that can lead to future opportunities) Don't be so quick to shut down or shut down the filmmaker. We have to work at having better filming relationships. It's time to go to the next level. You seeked out the filmmaker to work with them so why make demands when you asked for the opportunity to be cast? By being offered a role they are entrusting you with that project. You don't know the cost of the expense to that filmmaker with the budget they have which includes catering for you, location for you to be able to film and equipment to film you. Instead of your list of demands not being a A-List actor maybe offer to be a sponsor, investor, a producer or find a way to contribute to help the success of the project you wanted to be a part of. Most filmmakers love what they do and want to work with actors to create a great production. Please work with the filmmaker you have been entrusted with their creative character and make it a positive experience for all involved.
