Essential Functions & Responsibilities: - Preparation of Income Tax Returns. - Closely-held business services including tax preparation, QuickBooks setup and transaction entry; related accounting; and tax planning and projections. - Understanding of income tax laws as they relate to corporate entities, individuals, partnerships, trusts and estates. - Tax Problem Resolution including assisting with tax authority responses, examinations, installment agreements and Offers in Compromise. - Research tax issues and provide tax planning and consulting services. - Assist with client communication. - Assist with special projects. - Other duties as assigned. - Some local travel rarely outside the Metro Atlanta Area. Desired Skills & Experience: - Three plus years of tax experience with a CPA firm. - Recent tax preparation experience of complex tax returns. - Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills. - Must be a self-starter and able to work independently on assignments. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Proficiency in the use of computers and the ability to become proficient with firm utilized tax and other software. - Tax problem resolution, payroll tax, property tax and QuickBooks experience are a plus.
